Motivation

For the first PyladiesBCN Project we want to work on building our website. In order to start with it, we've decided to give an Introduction to Python Static Websites workshops, so everyone, even Python and/or web development beginners, can learn and participate in the project.

This workshop is beginner friendly and hands-on, so bring your laptop!

Workshop parts:

• Introduction to HTML/CSS/JS and Bootstrap to create your own Theme or modify an existing one. http://getbootstrap.com/

• Build your Static Website with Pelican, a Python Static Site Generator. http://pelican.readthedocs.org/en/3.3.0/

• Learn some HTML/CSS/JS and Bootstrap to create your own Theme or modify an existing one. http://getbootstrap.com/

• Work on your website/blog

After this session, we're going to organize a Project Hacknight to start working collaboratively on the PyladiesBCN website. There you'll be able to apply all the learned skills in a real development project. You can also use these skills to start your own blog or static website!
